There is a Ricky’s Ember’s on the corner of where I live. You can find me there most Saturdays or Sunday morning for breakfast depending on what time the Monster raises her sleepy head.
They have a mean Country Fried Steak and eggs with a delicious gravy. Very filling and fattening! Which is why it tastes so darn good. We always get the same thing each time. The Waitress’s don’t even bother asking us what we want anymore. I always get Country Fried Steak and eggs and the Monster gets French Toast Sticks with bacon and two hot tea’s!
We are creatures of habit what can I say!
I decided it was time to try and recreate the Country Fried Steak with Gravy in a more grown up version for dinner versus breakfast. So instead of eggs, I made Mashed Potatoes and I added a Spicy Italian sausage to the gravy.
It was fantastic. I know I say that all the time. But it was so good that It was all gone the same night! Try to get cubed steak. If you use normal steak meat, it will be too tough.
Remember Hot Italian Sausage is spicy and it comes already seasoned. So no salt was used in this recipe.
