My family and I took Chicago by storm this last weekend! Or shall I say the Willis Tower took us for a ride!
I am an avid planner when it comes to vacations. I plan everything down to the last detail. Most of the time it never goes the way I picture it. Big Surprise right!
We drove to Chicago on Friday and planned to stay out of Chicago and then just drive in on the Saturday to visit the Willis Tower and the Navy Pier.
It is not the easiest thing to bundle up 11 people including kids and be on time. But we were out the door in record time to head into Chicago. First stop was the Willis Tower, as we thought this would take the shortest time and then we can walk to Navy Pier and hang out there for hours!
Ha! Got to Willis Tower and was told it was a 2 hour wait time to get to the top of the Tower. We were like okay we are here in the line already, we may as well wait and go through with it. It took us about 4-5 hours to get to the top of the Tower and we only stayed probably 30 minutes! OMG…if you are going there, be prepared. It is a lot of lining up, standing, and don’t talk about the crying kids!
The views was great, but I will not be doing that again! Navy Pier was simply beautiful! Breathtaking at night. I suggest go in the evening after the sun has set and enjoy the night time views!
After being away from home cooked food for 3 days, I just wanted normal food that was semi healthy to balance out all the junk food from the weekend.
This beautiful, delicious, protein packed Frittata was just the thing for breakfast. I used Farm, fresh, organic eggs, fresh baby spinach, and tomatoes and peppers all from my garden.
It was perfect.
