I am continuing on with this Lamb kick I seem to be on lately. I figure I may as well knock out all the Lamb dishes I can while I am on this kick.
Ever since I made the Lamb Biryani, I am have been craving this Lamb Curry. It is very similar to the lamb that you use for the Biryani. Its this rich, creamy gravy that you can use roti or naan to sop up all that yummy gravy! Yum-OH!
You know I never ate Lamb growing up Trinidad, Lamb was considered a luxury and we only ate goat at Christmas time. I only recently started eating it in fact. I love Lamb Curry or Curried Lamb. Sadly more that Goat Curry which I grew up on. Its just less gamey.
Actually I have heard quite a few people afraid to try Lamb or Goat because of the gaminess. As long as you prepare the Lamb or goat properly before marinating or cooking you will not have a gamey taste.
Lamb or goat must be rinsed with cold water and lime juice. This helps with the sliminess and thereby removing most of the gaminess. Any Lamb or Goat that you see on my blog is all Halal as well. The butcher I purchase it from is 100% Halal. And this just means its butchered in a good way.
