Pies!

by TastesSpicy

I know I have not posted in a while! I was away on vacation. Well I was really partying it up in Toronto for Caribana! Saw one of my favorite Soca singers, Marchel Montano live in action.

I ate very badly every day, got to hang out with my favorite person and meet a few new ones. In short, blogging was the last thing on my mind! LOL

I could totally move there to live, only thing is, I would gain so much weight! There is just too much Trini food around. I would never exercise either!

Oh let me tell you my story about my plane ride home! It was a wee tiny plane to begin with. When I booked my ticket I was at the back of the plane, like seat 20! I went online and paid extra to move up to an economy seat. Cause I really did not want to be sitting next to the toilet for 2 hours.

So I get on the plane and I look at my seat number, someone is sitting in my seat! What!

So I say very sweetly to him, I think this is my seat. His response was “Oh yeah, this is my girl friend sitting next to me, and we want to sit together, you can take my seat, its 19C”

So I stopped to think for a second…did some math in my head, wondered how stupid this guy think I was. Why would I first of all, trade my seat that is at the front of the plane to the very back?

Maybe if his seat was not so far back I may have considered it. The thing is, he did not ask me. He basically said I needed to switch places with him. He already had his seat belt on and was cozied up to his woman.

I was like errrr no. I want my seat. I will not sit at the back of the plane when I actually paid for this seat! He was a little pissed of course.

Anyway that was my plane ride story! Onto what you really came here for Macaroni Pie the Bajan way!

Now I have made Macaroni Pie the Trini way before on here. I am saying this is the Bajan way because when I was in Barbados, the chef at the house had made it different than what I did. Hers was almost pink on the inside. And it was sweet! It was just yummy.

She added tomatoes and ketchup which gave it that sweet flavor.

Have heard about the Toronto Caribbean event, but have not yet ever been, does sound like have to make it there in future. Plane story haha funny!

My Aunt used to make some Pies you can just like the plate clean. Umm used to do that too. A bit fuzzy after all these years but she used to layer some Sliced Tomatoes in middle however it was made, that’s most I can remember, other than damn tasty.
