I finally took on that in-depth dish! Back in the day, one of my friends from Sri Lanka had made this Lamb Biryani from scratch. It was so delicious. I have eaten Biryani since at different places, but some how none ever matched up to his!
The meat was tender and the rice was perfectly cooked and the spices he used made that dish so yummy! My sister and I always talk about that.
So I final decided to recreate it! I hit him up for some directions and off to the butcher shop for my fresh lamb I went.
It really is not as intimidating as it looks. The toughest part is finding a middle eastern store with the correct spices. But if you prepare everything ahead, it is super easy. You need a heavy cast iron pot for sure if you are a beginner. Make sure you prepare the lamb prior to marinating like I said in the directions. This will avoid your lamb being gamey.
I promise this Lamb Biryani was so delicious. Comfort food at its best. Next up…lamb burgers! Come back soon! It will be summer here in MN next week with 30 degrees! Cannot wait!

This looks delicious! But i’m juice fasting for a month and rest of the month so you can slow down on all these recipes lol as won’t be cooking anything till after and likely early summer. Dish looks awesome though.
