Boot Camp update!

by TastesSpicy

I am in my third week of my boot camp…The running is getting easier, if that is even possible. The exercises, is tougher with each session. I was thinking as time goes on it would get easier as my body adjusts to the work outs. But my trainer somehow finds a new way to torment us each week!

It is so hard to lose the last 3 pounds. I feel like I am at a pause in my work outs. I don’t know how to get over this bump. It doe snot help that my mom is still here cooking up a storm every day! I do like coming home to a hot meal and laundry done! I cannot complain. Its awesome!!!

But to give her a break from the Trinidad food all the time I made steaks and pork chops with salad and a quick and easy Grilled Baby Potato. Everyone loved the potatoes. It was nothing fancy or hard. Give it a try!

Came across your site here earlier today from reading an archived blog post article on Cynthia Nelson’s blog Taste like Home. A blog which I also thoroughly enjoy reading greatly. But I’ve read a few post here and enjoyed the posts as well the colorful and interesting recipes.

As a Caribbean islander myself being from St.Kitts (Kittitian American) and living in NC for many years now Its only recently I’ve started discovering many Food Blogs that reflect the food spirit and heritage of the regional foods of the Caribbean. As well some fusion of our heritage foods for those of us who have immigrated and live in the U.S. I’m finding it all inspirational and reawakening as I come across various blogs that help me to reconnect with the food I grew up loving that takes me back to my childhood and the Flavors I loved.

I think I’ll set up my camping chair and lime a bit around here while taking in some the great Flavors I see bubbling up here. Maybe I’ll also find some inspiration here that will propel me more in being a better cook of the rich Caribbean Flavors of my heritage.
