Online Dating? Have you tried it?

by TastesSpicy

I bet you are wondering about the heading of my post. Well this past weekend I had dinner and drinks with my gal pals. After dinner we retired to my friends home so that we can work on their profiles as two of them are going online!

Now what I have learn’t is that it is really hard to write about yourself. I know most people say it is easy to talk or write about yourself because who knows you better than you! That is until you have to write a profile let me tell you.

Personally I am not an online dating person, I am old fashioned and do believe in eye contact, that first glimpse of the person across the room, the nervous glances to see if he is still looking at you, yeah that is all me. However the name of the game in this day and age is online dating! It has worked for thousands. So my girls decided it was time to set aside the maintainance man and start looking for the real deal, True love!

So what exactly do you say in these profiles? Do you stick to the generic stuff, like you like movies, you like hiking, exercising, you are honest, confident? And the big question…what type of guy are you looking for? What a loaded question! Drop dead sexy of course! Cause you do not want to roll over one morning and wake up next to some guy who has horns growing out of his head right! LMBO

Ahhhh online dating…it is work. You have to really know how to write and weave a story that will capture your perfect guy. Goodluck to my ladies!

Today I made Coconut Curried Shrimp as I was going to a dinner party and had to take a dish. It was very easy and quick. You have to try it!

And before I go…I am super close to 1000 hits to my food blog. I shall be giving away a prize once I hit the mark all you have to do is leave me a comment and you will be automatically entered.

My one connection to Trinidad. True story when I was in High School in St.Kitts, we got a new Teacher to our school who taught Chemistry… Ms P.Mills. She was a fairly recent university graduate of maybe one year and was from Trinidad. She was in her mid 20’s about and married. She could teach Chemistry, Physics or Biology if needed, she was that smart. But she taught us Chemistry. And needless to say I didn’t drop Chemistry for the next 4 years in High School. We all had a crush on Ms Mills. But she was an awesome teacher who taught things at a personal level and spent the time teaching you to understand things after class was over so you could understand things if you had a problem. She help me understand Physics and Biology even though she only taught Chemistry. When i did my High School exams for my Caribbean wide CXC’s i passed all my courses with a grade 2 and of the two courses I got a grade 1. Well one was Chemistry. I had one teacher to thank mostly…. Ms P.Mills from Trinidad. She’s one them teacher you could never forget. She generated natural Chemistry lol. All these years later Its the one High School Teacher I could never forget. She left an everlasting impression. Yeah she was from Trinidad…. must be something about that island.

Have tried Online Dating and still do sometimes. But its likely much more easier, natural making a connection running into someone at a Whole Foods eyeing that person and maybe generating a conversation about whats in the basket or what they’ll be cooking as compared to Online Dating. However the world, society, Technology had changes and thats the society we live in where the norm is to do Online Dating. Everyone is pressed for time, few people are ever in the right places to meet people, and some people don’t like hanging out at some places to meet others, yet you can’t be everywhere at once either. So Online Dating covers all of that all at once. Its not easy, it has its hurdles, and until you actually meet someone face to face and look them in the eye your never quite taken that seriously. But hey thats todays world.
