Earlier this week I was on my healthy kick…that was short lived! Today I made the best, not too sweet, cruchy on the outside and soft on the inside Doughnuts!
Now these are like me…very unusual. Yes I have finally come to terms with the fact that I am unusual. For instance I have a pet pieve…yes me, I do have a pet pieve…well a few really…but let us start with the fact that you invite folks to your home, let us for this scenerio use a party…is it not rude and tacky to not respond to an invite? If you cannot make it the polite thing or proper thing would be to respond to said invite and say sorry you cannot make it. So easy to do! Nope instead there are people who choose instead to say they prefer to go somewhere, where they do not have to spend money, or bring a dish to the party. Even though nothing was said in the invite about bringing anything!
I have come to terms that there are people who are unhappy with themselves and they love to protract that onto other people, people who are happy and comfortable with who they are.
Now what were we talking about? Oh yes Doughnuts! LMBO…talk about being female and getting off topic. OYE
These doughnuts are from the South African borders. They are traditionally called Koeksister prounounced Cook-Sister. It means it is a plaited doughnut dipped in syrup. It is prepared by deep frying plaited dough rolls in oil, then dipping the fried dough into a cold sugar syrup.
It is fast and easy to make and it tastes so good with a nice cup of hot tea or coffee.
My goal for the rest of the week is to not eat all the Doughnuts in one sitting and never let unhappy people in to mess with my happy feet!
