Recipe
4 slabs of Country style bone in pork ribs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2-3 tablespoons Spice Rub
FOR THE BBQ SAUCE:
1 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup of honey
2 tablespoons Worcestershire
3 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/4 cup cider
1 tablespoon onion (freshly zest)
1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
1 teaspoon fresh crush red pepper or cayenne pepper
Directions
Season the pork ribs generously with the Salt, black pepper and the spice rub. Make sure all of it is fully coated.
Cover and allow to marinate for 1-4 hours depending on how much time you have.
Prepare your smoker to its proper directions.
Add all the ingredients for the BBQ Sauce in a sauce pan and allow to simmer on low for 30-35 minutes. It should thicken up slightly.
Place the ribs in the smoker to smoke for 4-5 hours. I had 4.5 pounds of ribs and it took about 4 hours at 200 degrees.
The internal Temp should be 185 to be done. Once the internal temp reaches around 180, start basting the ribs every 5-10 minutes with the sauce.
Or if you like you can leave it as is and serve the sauce on the side.
But the sauce is just amazing!!!
