Recipe
500 grams bread flour
2 teaspoon salt
1.5 teaspoons instant yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon honey
Approximately 2 cups warm water
Directions
To a bowl, add the flour, salt, yeast, honey and olive oil. mix really well.
Slowly add in the water. You are going to add the the water until you form a sticky dough. Please watch the youtube video to see how sticky your dough needs to be.
Cover the dough and allow to rest for 15 minutes. I usually place mine in my oven.
After 15 minutes, did your hands in a bowl with water, or cup whatever wets your hands, then start by grabbing the outer part of the dough, pull, stretch and tuck in. Repeat this process for about 5-6 pulls.
Cover and allow to rest again for another 15 minutes. This process allows the gluten to develop.
Repeat the pull and tuck process again after 15 minutes. Cover and rest for 1.5 hours.
After 1.5 hours or who the dough has doubled in size, empty the dough onto a flour dusted surface.
Press the dough out into a rough flat shape. You will need a lot of flour for dusting as the dough will be so soft and sticky.
Cut the dough into desired pieces and shape into rolls or sandwich loaves. Place into a flour dusted bread pan. Cover and rest for about 35-45 minutes.
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F. Place a baking dish filled with water on the bottom shelf of the oven while it is pre-heating.
After the dough has rested, place in the oven just above the shelf with the pan with the water. Bake for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, remove the pan with the water and continue baking for another 10 minutes or until the bread is brown on top.
Remove from the oven and OPTIONALLY baste the top with Butter.
The tops will appear hard initially, but I promise you it is not…The softest, fluffiest bread ever!
