Recipe
For the marinade:
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon lemon pepper
1 tablespoon really good olive oil
1 teaspoon chili pepper
For the rest of the Dish:
2 pounds of New York steak, sliced into 2 inch thickness
1 pound of baby potatoes, boiled for 5 minutes and cut into 4 parts
2 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon pepper flakes
1 teaspoon lawry’s seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoon cilantro for garnishing
Directions
Place the steak pieces into a bowl with all the marinade ingredients and mix together. Set aside to marinate for at least 1 hour.
To a hot cast iron, add 1 tablespoon of butter and olive oil. Add the potatoes. Leave the potatoes to get a crispy texture. Leave it for at least 2 minutes.
Turn and leave it on the other side for another 2 minutes.
Remove the potatoes from the cast iron and set aside.
Add the other tablespoon of butter to the cast iron, add the thyme, rosemary, oregano and pepper flakes. Fry for 30 seconds and add the steak slices in a single layer on the pan.
Cook to your liking. I cooked mine for 1 minute per side, then remove it from the pan.
Add back the potatoes to the same pan so that it can be seasoned with the spices. Season with larwys and black pepper. Add back the steak slices and mix together.
Garnish with cilantro and remove from the heat.
One of the best one pot dishes!
