Recipe
For the Beef:
1 New York strip steak, sliced thin
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon corn starch
1 teaspoon shoaxing wine or mirin
For the Rice:
2 cups of day old cooked rice
1/2 cup of chopped sweet peppers, different colors
1 cup of chopped snap peas
1/4 cup of chopped white onions
1/4 cup of celery chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced ginger
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon msg (optional) or you can just use salt to taste
1 stalk of green onions, chopped
Directions
Marinade the beef with the soy sauce, shaoxing wine and corn starch for 30 minutes.
Heat your wok or pan on really high heat.
Add the sesame oil. When the oil is smoking hot add the beef. Keep moving it around the fry it. Only cook it for 2 minutes and remove it from the pan.
Add more sesame oil if necessary.
Add the garlic and ginger. Fry for 1 minute then add the celery and onions. Fry for 1-2 minutes. Add in the peppers. Stir fry for another 2 minutes.
Add in the rice, snap peas, green onions, dark soy sauce, cooked beef and MSG if using. Mix everything until the rice is fully coated and dark brown.
Make sure the rice is heated through fully and taste for salt.
Remove from the heat and serve right away!
